[Traffic may be delayed today due to an accident on Westminster Bridge. A young man driving a 1930s-era car reportedly "came out of nowhere," lost control of his vehicle on the ice, and somehow veered into oncoming traffic. No one was hurt, but the driver, holding a white dog in his arms, seems a bit disoriented as he explains the situation to the police.]

I'm telling the truth, sir! I know it sounds mad, but I wasn't in London until a moment ago. And it wasn't... snowing.

... No, I have not been drinking!

[SAVE TINTIN PLEASE, HE'S SO CONFUSED.]

[A troll girl is pushing forward to see what's going on.]

It's alright, it happens to everyguppy. Well, maybe not so dramatically.

[Snowy notices the girl before Tintin does, and wriggles in his arms, sniffing and then snarling.]

Snowy! Boy, what's wrong?

[And then he sees her and... wow what is even that costume. But she's talking directly to him, there's no doubt about that. Snowy takes advantage of his distraction and jumps down to bark at her heels.]

Ufh- Snowy, no! Get back here!

[Feferi peers down at the dog with interest. She's not dressed for the weather--she's really only just arrived, and before SGRUB she lived underwater. Alternia was never very cold, anyway.]

Hey, is this your lusus?

My - what? He's my dog. Snowy, come.

[He claps his hands. Snowy sniffs suspiciously at Feferi a second longer (smells like fish!), but then reluctantly returns to Tintin's side. Tintin crouches to scratch the dog's head reassuringly, but his attention is on the police officer, who's now being distracted by the other driver and the pedestrians gathering to rubberneck at the scene.

He can't explain this, even to himself. He's well aware he sounds like a crazy person - appropriately, since he's starting to feel like one, too. This is no time to get arrested. He's got to figure out what happened.....]

He's cute!

[Feferi smiles with too-sharp teeth, apparently oblivious to any distress the situation may be causing.]

Er - thank you...

[Snowy barks twice, then whines, trying to hide behind Tintin. There's something not right about this girl! The smell, the teeth, there's something just not right... Tintin does not speak Dog, of course, but he does notice those very sharp and realistic-looking chompers up close. Well all right. He's very confused and a bit apprehensive, of course, but more importantly... he's now curious. Isn't it a bit convenient that he crashed his car 200 miles from where he thought he was, then met this strange, inhuman-looking girl just afterwards? There's got to be a connection here. What does it mean?

The officer in charge of the scene has turned his attention on the weird girl, now. "What're you meant to be? Halloween was months ago, clear off, girl, you'll make a scene," etc. And indeed, a small crowd of bystanders is beginning to gather. But Tintin senses a story.]

Look, ah - terribly sorry. Must have been the ice. Let me just telephone for a tow and I'll be on my way. [To Feferi: ] Excuse me, miss, could you show me where there's a phone I can use?

Shore!

[Feferi is more than happy to lead Tintin away from the police officers--she doesn't want him getting culled or anything like that. It's not until they're out of earshot she speaks up again.]

A what?

Thank you.

[Sweet, he wasn't entirely expecting that to work! Snowy tags along as they head down the street. When she asks the question, though, it takes Tintin a second to recall what she's referring to.]

A telephone. I am going to call a tow, I wasn't making that up. But - listen. What exactly are you dressed as?

Like a laptop?

[She tilts her head.]

I'm not dressed as anything.

[He'll worry about the whole "what's a laptop" thing in a second. One conversation at a time.]

But - no. [Standing squarely in front of her now. He is.. probably not much taller than her sklfjkd.] The horns, the - the tiara, the grey body paint. What's the occasion?

I'm a troll, duh. It's not paint or anything, it's all reel!

A troll? What do you mean? [She doesn't look like a troll from any folklore he's ever read.]

A troll from the planet Alternia. [She drags "troll" and "Alternia" out as if he were stupid.] Another planet? An alien?

[Wow, wait. Is she really claiming to be a space alien.....? Then again, he was in Brussels not ten minutes ago, and now... Is that the connection? That both their stories sound insane? Granted, hers more than his, but...]

All right. Let's go with that. Assuming, however it may be possible, that that is the case - then what are you doing on Earth?

[Meanwhile, Snowy's getting a little snarly at her again.]

[Ignoring Snowy, for now.]

I don't know, what were you doing on the bridge?

Besides wrecking my car? To be honest I haven't the foggiest. I'm meant to be just out of Brussels, not on the other side of the Channel.

[Believe you me, his mind is racing with possibilities for how he got there, but he hasn't got the evidence to suggest any one over another. She's the key, she's the only lead he's got.]

How did you get to London? Do you know?

Is that where I've washed up?

[She looks around at the scenery.]

I went into a new dream bubble, and here I was!

Is this all a dream? That'd explain a lot. [sigh. so not only that, but she was standing right next to Big Ben and didn't know she was in London. and she thinks she's an alien. okay. he runs a hand over his hair, which flattens his quiff for about three seconds before it pops right back up again.]

You could be dreaming, but I don't think I'd be in your dream. Still, it's exciting!

[She glubs a bit, for emphasis.]

[Tintin... actually can't argue with that. Getting knocked unconscious three or four times in an average day, sure, your dreams can get pretty weird, but even his subconscious has its limits. Her enthusiasm is undeniably contagious, though, and he finds himself smiling.]

Heh, it's certainly that. [looks around briefly] All right. Don't they have the red boxes - ahh, there we are. [He homes in on a red telephone booth not too far away and skirts around Feferi to head toward it at a trot.]

[Feferi follows.]

Is that what you were talking about before?

[Snowy, meanwhile, follows her. She better not try any funny business!! - is what he might say if he were not a dog.

Tintin looks over his shoulder as he walk/runs.] Yes. In London they've begun putting public telephones in red boxes. Not to say anything of the aesthetics, but at least it's visible. [Opens the door and slips in...]

[Peering in at him and circling the box curiously.]

[Tintin shuts the door of course, and Snowy is GUARDING IT LIKE A MOFO. Every time Feferi comes around he's gonna sniff at her and put his ears back just so. ~~In case it has not been made abundantly clear already the dog does not particularly care for her.~~

Meanwhile, Tintin has encountered a problem with the phone. Okay, problem(s) plural. First is that apparently the phone uses buttons instead of a dial? Second is that all he has in his pockets is Belgian money, OOPS. He comes back out of the booth within a minute or two, looking a bit miffed.]

Well, forget that. We'll have to find someone kind enough to let us use theirs. [Shaking his head, and mostly talking to Snowy at this point-] Sixty pence it wanted! That's francly ridiculous.

[Well, Feferi doesn't know what pence are, but she can assume it's some sort of cost for the phone.]

Is that a lot? It doesn't sound like much.

[Given how much things in SGRUB cost.]
